Deborah Geisler, CRNA, MHSA

Ms. Geisler received her BS in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1975, her certificate of Nurse Anesthesia at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1980. In 1987, she earned a Masters of Health Services Administration from the same institution.
She has a varied clinical practice background: as an educator, a private practitioner, and as a staff anesthetist at a Level I Trauma Center, where she was employed for 22 years. She was actively involved with student nurse anesthesia education for over 14 years as the clinical coordinator for the two SC nurse anesthesia programs at their clinical rotation site at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Currently, she is a private practitioner in Ponte Vedra, Florida providing anesthesia services for hospitals and surgery centers in the surrounding area.
Throughout her professional career, she has been an active leader for our profession on the state and national level. While in South Carolina, she held numerous officer positions on the Board of Directors including the office of president for the South Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetist. On the national level, she was elected and served as a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Board of Directors from 1996-2002. She completed her term as President of the AANA in August 2002
Mike Geisler, CRNA, BSN

Mr. Geisler received his BS in Nursing from the College of St. Teresa, Winona Minnesota in 1979, his certificate of Nurse Anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic in 1984.
He has a varied clinical practice background, which includes tenure with the Mayo Clinics at Rochester and Jacksonville. He is an avid educator having taught for 20 years. In recognition of his contributions to education, he holds an appointment as an Instructor of Anesthesiology, Mayo Medical School.
While at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, he served as Chief Anesthetist for 7 years. He was integral in the planning and execution of the anesthesia component for the largest Liver Transplant Program in the country.
In 1998 he was the recipient of the AANA "Clinical Anesthesia Practitioner of the Year" Award.
In the professional arena, he has served on the AANA Board of Directors as Regional Director, as Chair of the Practice Committee and as a member of the Program Committee. While in Minnesota, he also served as Mayor of his city of residence.
Terry C. Wicks CRNA, MHS

Staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Catawba Valley Medical Center, 2007 AANA President
Terry grew up in eastern Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing with a BSN in 1981. After working in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at University Hospitals he returned to active duty in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, eventually receiving a Masters Degree in Health Science and completing his didactic anesthesia education at the Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and his clinical experience at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.
After serving as a staff CRNA and clinical faculty at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu Terry returned to Fitzsimons where he served as the Assistant Course Director for the Army's nurse anesthesia program at Fitzsimons.
Terry left the military in 1991 and relocated to his current home in Rutherford College, North Carolina. He has remained active throughout his career teaching continuing education programs for nurse anesthetists and recently completed his term as President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
