Fox Chase Cancer Center's Arthur Zwerling, CRNA, MSN, DNP, of Elkins Park, Pa., earned his doctorate in nursing practice in pain management from University of Tennessee Health Science Center. His focus was on assessment, prevention and treatment of post-thoracotomy shoulder pain syndromes.
Zwerling is a staff certified registered nurse anesthetist at Fox Chase and a lecturer at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Before joining Fox Chase, Zwerling was program director of the Schools of Nurse Anesthesia at University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Hospital.
Zwerling earned his M.S. from Saint Joseph's University and his M.S.N. from Temple University. Between the years of 2004 and 2005, Zwerling was awarded the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Foundation Doctoral Scholarship and the International Nurses Society On Addictions Impaired Practice / Peer Assistance Award.
In addition to his professional work, Zwerling has volunteered his time to work with the Health Volunteer Overseas, Belize Nurse Anesthesia Program and Eritrea Nurse Anesthesia Program. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists, American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
In his free time, Zwerling enjoys fishing, snorkeling, diving, target shooting, reading and astronomy.

In addition to her role as Dean, Dr. McMullen practices as both a women’s health nurse practitioner and an attorney. Dr. McMullen completed her BSN and MS degrees at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and then went on to complete a Juris Doctor at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She later obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree from The Catholic University of America.
Dr. McMullen has held prior faculty positions at both the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Graduate School of Nursing and the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She has worked clinically at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Baltimore City Health Department, and Anne Arundel Medical Center. Over the course of her career, Dr. McMullen has combined her interests in nursing and the law by authoring a variety of book chapters and articles dealing with legal issues in nursing. A member of both the Maryland and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations, Dr. McMullen has served on both plaintiff and defense malpractice cases.
During off hours, Dr. McMullen enjoys tennis, biking, and family time.
