Nancy,
This was a great meeting. I really enjoyed it and the topics were presented well. I've been in this business over thirty years and have attended many meetings and this was one of the best. I really liked the way it was broken up into half-day sessions allowing time to enjoy the area.

Encore Symposiums are better than an Encore. They deserve a standing ovation. The educational meetings provide a unique blend of educational opportunities.

The educational lectures are filled with current and insightful information that is presented by highly motivated and well qualified professionals.

But what makes Encore Symposiums a step above the rest are the golden opportunities to relax, learn, and explore the spectacular settings that surround the meeting venues. It just doesn’t get any better.

John B. Martin, CRNA

I would not have necessarily chosen the topics that were selected for this meeting if you asked in advance; but, WOW, they were great! Informative! Relevant! I learned so much... So just keep choosing great speakers and I suspect I’ll be happy with their topics.

Ski Colorado Mountain Peaks - Telluride 2007

Greetings, Nancy!

I just wanted to send you a note, to tell you how wonderful the Telluride Anesthesia Symposium was, and I feel the lectures were very valuable! Your staff of speakers were exceptional, especially David, and he is certainly a role model for us all. I wish some of the Anesthesiologists I work with could hear him speak!!

I really thought you all did a great job in setting up the whole seminar - it was especially good for you to have the evening welcome reception, and the Après refreshments/Open forum in the evening. It gave us a chance to get to know some of the other attendees. It was wonderful to hear about other CRNAs practice, as well as the opportunity to socialize with fellow practitioners!

Thanks again for a truly worthwhile experience!

Sincerely,
Sylvia Utecht, CRNA, MS

Hello Nancy and Chris,
First, we want to thank you for our wonderful vacation. It was more than we expected and we can't wait to share our experience with our friends and neighbors. You guys are a first class act, a lot of Fortune 500 companies could learn many things from your business.

Nancy,

I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how very much Rich and I enjoyed our train ride through the Rockies - it was even better than we ever dreamed it would be! The scenery was spectacular, the accommodations were fantastic, and the food was awesome! And, the attendees made up a wonderfully diverse group resulting in many new friendships. You, Joe and Judy are to be commended for a job more than well done! Rich and I both brought back memories to treasure for the rest of our lives - thank you, thank you, thank you!!
We look forward to more Encore Symposiums in the future! Please extend our thanks to Joe and Judy. Hope you can get some rest before you head to the Southwest!

Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park 2006

Hi Nancy,
We LOVED Bar Harbor. If you and yours have not tried the lobster at the Trenton Bridge, please do so next time. It's the best lobster we've ever eaten. We went our last night in Maine and left with a wonderful memory.

I attended the symposium in Bar Harbor and it was just absolutely awesome. We really enjoyed it! It was probably one the the best meetings I've ever been to. I'm not a real vacation type of guy; but, that was one of one of the vacations/ meetings I’ve attended in the last 15-17 years. I did not want to return home. That says volumes, you got to have another one there, you absolutely have to! Thanks so much. Again, this is probably one of the best meetings, not only in content but in location that I have every attended. Condos to you, and Encore Symposiums, it was absolutely, far and away the best one I ever been to.

Debbie Hanzel and I attended the conference in Bar Harbor (we work at the same hospital). We told everyone at the lunch table today what a good conference it was, and all about you and Encore Symposiums. You really do an outstanding job. We need nurses in the know like you. Many CRNA's from our hospital will be visiting your web site.

What an outstanding meeting you provided us with in Bar Harbor, ME. I've been home for a day and miss the ocean, my friends..new and old.., the lovely trees, etc. that Bar Harbor has to offer. Just wanted to let you know that the meeting was so wonderful and how much I appreciate all you do for us.

As a first timer to Encore..I must say how well pleased I was with the Symposium....everything about it was excellent.....put my name down for Bar Harbor 2008 for sure....I certainly like your approach to selection of locations for your symposia...all scenic and unique..very appealing.....My biggest mistake in planning for this meeting was timing of my airline reservations..which made me have to leave Bar Harbor right away!!!! One critique, however...next time I'll bring my own seasonings for my meals...those yankees need to kick it up a notch!!!! Deep in Cajun country...

Hilton Head 2006

I would like to thank you for a great meeting at Hilton Head Island. My husband and I have vacationed there many times in the past (we even owned property on the island), but we never realized what a nice place the Hilton Oceanfront is for a meeting.

In addition, thanks for be so concerned about our room reservation. It was super! We hope to take advantage of your seminars in the future.

Adirondack Mountains 2005

We traveled from far, by air, auto, train,
To the Adirondacks fines terrain.
Abundant forests and lakes were all around,
Hiking adventures were easily found!

Four days of clouds, fog an rain,
Hardly dampened our spirits for law-knowledge to gain.
The jury went out after lengthy debate.
The judge was impatient and very irate.

The trial is now done,
CRNA "Shakey" has won!
She was vigilant and aware,
And maintained a strict "standard of care".

Many thanks to Nancy and her wonderful staff,
We earned CE Credits, enjoyed learning and laughs.

After attending five (5) Encore Symposium anesthesia seminars, I can personally attest to the high caliber of material and excellence of individual presenters. Equally exciting are the outstanding venues selected by the organizers. Each site is recognized as a major destination and the accommodations and activities are first rate.
Jean Coombes, BA, CRNA, APRN
University of CT, Health Center
Farmington, CT

...

This is the second (2nd) symposium hosted by Encore Symposiums that I have attended. Each symposium has been marked by a selection of subject matter that is cogent, relevant and timely. Ancillary subjects, while not medically specific, nevertheless are highly relevant to the scope of anesthesia practice. In conclusion, each aspect of the Encore Symposia is outstanding: Location, Accommodations, Topics and Speakers. Kudo for an outstanding job!
Leanne L. Chabior, CRNA, MA, Col. US Army Reserves

...

This is my first (1st) Encore meeting and it certainly will not be my last. I have thoroughly enjoyed the topics presented and the speakers were very well prepared and quite entertaining. I got up each morning tired but motivated to get going to attend the meeting because I didn't want to miss anything!

It was a nice surprise to have a warm entrée included in the continental breakfast, with something new and delicious everyday.

The Sagamore is a lovely setting and I felt welcomed by the Sagamore staff and the Encore staff was very approachable and pleasant. Nancy, in particular was very helpful to me when I had difficulty making reservations at the Sagamore.

I was pleased with the wide array of activities offered for free time recreation - there was something for everyone to enjoy!

I am already looking forward to next year and my next Encore meeting. Encore is the best I have ever experienced. Thank you!

The Sagamore, need I say more?
But if I must, it's a total bust!
Rain, rain, and rain some more,
Enjoy the colors of autumn galore.
The symposium was excellent, you must trust,
From speakers, lectures, and a trial - is a must.
The trial - a must? You say for all CRNAs?
Absolutely, positively, you see,
The professional CRNAs to learn, understand, and see what may lie ahead of thee,
A CRNA, shall practice the standard of care,
Because Encore Symposiums was a BIG AFFAIR!
So attend it all, once and for all
Year after year, for it's a ball.
The Sagamore, need I say more?

Thank you for everything. I plan to go to more of your symposiums in the future with my family!

I have been a CRNA for 17 (seventeen) years and this was the "best" state meeting conference I have attended! The sensational hospitality at this very "nostalgic" hotel, the mountain and lake beauty, despite the NY rain, and the "superb" lecturers and Mock Trial performance has make me want to attend another Encore Symposium conference! Even my 10-year-old daughter learned this week that "Mom" can truly "relax" and learn at the same time through "Encore".

Santa Fe 2005

If you're looking for a first class meeting with excellent faculty, topics, and locations, then Encore Symposiums is the way to go.
Nancy Kish, CRNA

Santa Fe - a town rich in history, culture, art, and fine cuisine. New Mexico… a land of mountains, wide-open spaces, turquoise skies and ever changing landscapes… This is truly the Land of Enchantment!
Lorrie Bennett, CRNA
Rochester, MN
...

The Santa Fe Anesthesia Encore Symposium provided information and interesting topics in an organized professional environment… The speakers interjected real life experiences with discussion from the choir… The seminar was organized in an attractive style with morning lectures, leaving plenty of R&R time and was truly in the Land of Enchantment. Encore Symposiums Rocks!
Wendi Anselmi, CRNA
Arma, KS
...

Best liked things about this symposium were:

  • Leisurely breakfast
  • Interesting lectures by innovative speakers which lasted half a day, leaving much free time for Santa Fe and New Mexico adventures.
  • Facility located within walking distance to the "heart" of Santa Fe
  • Many options offered for post meeting site seeing and entertainment
  • Gratuity included in activities
  • The spa!
  • Good food
  • Donna Sledge-Brown, CRNA
    Mitchell, IN
    ...

This was my second Encore and a huge improvement from my first. I especially enjoyed having three CRNAs as speakers who had clearly updated their talks. Santa Fe is an excellent choice--- relaxing and casual--- with an abundance of choices of restaurants. Driving ones car is not required for every restaurant and that's a real plus. Having never been to Sedona I look forward to going there in 2007 as I expect it to be even more relaxing while the rest of the world continues.

    Glacier National Park 2005

I have just gotten back from attending your Glacier National Park 4th of July seminar and I have to tell you that it was absolutely one of the finest and most organized lecture series I have attended. Going that extra mile to play up the 4th of July theme with hats and other goodies throughout the lecture days added a very festive feel to everything. Plus, the way you supplied information on nearby activities and sights to see was invaluable to someone like myself who was not familiar with the area. And last but not least, the speakers were dynamic and passionate about their topics. You have a new fan in me. I will definitely be attending your symposiums in the future.
    Betty (Elizabeth) Tacheny CRNA

    ...

Spectacular natural beauty and outstanding weather make the perfect backdrop. Add family, friendly extracurricular activities intertwined with a practical, meaningful educational seminar presented by knowledgeable providers, and you have the thoroughly enjoyable experience of Encore Symposium’s Glacier National Park Seminar. Wonderful experience!
    Jeanne Steele, CRNA
    Verona, KY

    ...
The entertainer at the Welcome Reception was a bonus on which I had not counted on. I have watched the media as friends, siblings, husbands, wives, son and daughters of people in our country have died in Iraq. His sharing of experiences in Iraq made me aware that they are not dying in vain as the media might lead you believe. For me, that alone was worth coming to the meeting... Above and beyond all I learned and saw.

Again a success out here in the west
    from lecture to adventure
    each one a true quest

    The wing from the trees
    rafted through the freeze
Rode the Road to the Sun
    it was such a thrill!

    Only wish... Can we run
    from our credit card bill
    The meeting may end
    but the memories will not
    Let meet again
    at another great Encore spot!

There are recall moments in one’s life when all senses come together to form a complete picture Such will be the nights of the 4th of July in Whitefish, MT.. Sitting on a hillside, overlooking the lake, with hours and hours of incredible fireworks, smelling BBQ, breathing clean pure air....hearing God Bless America echoing across the valley.

Thank you Encore Symposiums for another highly informative seminar and memories that will last a lifetime.

Castle in the Rockies Winter Wonderland 2005

This was my 5th Encore Symposium. All of them have been very informative and with very interesting speakers! The locations are beautiful, lots of events, and side trips abound. As the saying goes... CRNA’s deserve an Encore!

The Castle in the Rockies awaits your visit. The crisp cool air and awe inspiring view, combined with the faint sounds of the Alpine Horn draws you in deeper into the experience.

The attentiveness of the Willow Stream Spa begins with a relaxation experience. The outside world fades further as you stand under the waterfall, and float in the mineral pools. What Royal treatment from the Castle staff. This treatment is echoed by the Encore staff. We owe you an Encore!

Castle in the Rockies Winter Wonderland 2004

My experience at the Encore “Castle in the Rockies” symposium was phenomenal! The meetings were very relaxed and comfortable and the meeting times where structured so I had ample time to indulge in all of the wonderful activities and sights that the Banff area had to offer. I can’t wait to try some of the other locations that Encore has to offer!

The Canadian Rocky Alphorn echoed through the mountains inviting us to learn and embark on many adventures! We explored a castle, attacked ski slopes, mushed a dog-team, and hiked an ice-frosted canyon! ES did it right!!
    Maureen Scheiman, CRNA

So far, this has been the best symposium I’ve attended with the last 2 years, and for the following reasons:
    Location: Absolutely breathtaking!
Program Schedule: Organized in such a way that there is an excellent balance between the educational and recreational component.
Topics: Very broad enough to cover a range of topics of interest to the participants
Services: The staff... Organized, very prompt, friendly and efficient!
Post Seminar/Wrap-ups: Allowed sufficient time for networking and socializing with other attendees
Food: GREAT! Breakfast just what I needed to start the day.

I liked Encore Symposiums “Castle in the Rockies” conference for the following reasons:
    Good topics and speakers
    Only CRNA’s at conference
    Full Continental Breakfast

Karin Lindberg-Kueng, CRNA, Champlin, MN (Castle in the Rockies, Winter Wonderland 2003)

Although there have been many memorable events of this seminar, I would have to say the highlight of this trip was the Dog Sled Adventure! It was not only exciting for myself but I will never forget the excitement on the faces of my two little girls, Hayley and Sidney, ages 5 and 6!
I will definitely come back to this location. There are so many activities not only for adults, but for kids... I love this place! Having lectures in a room with such exquisite architecture and being able to glance out the large glass windows at the majestic Canadian Rockies covered in snow was just awesome! Thank you.

Thank you Encore Symposiums and Sedona - I have been rejuvenated, both academically and spiritually through this comprehensive conference, as well as the beautiful locale of Sedona, Arizona.

One cannot help but feel a serenity and spirituality as you look out over the landscape of this beautiful area. As a New Englander, I have never experienced the beauty of the red rock.

Thank you Encore for a beautifuland very educational week. You personal and caring attitude towards each individual in this great CRNA crowd was so much appreciated. Today when the worlk is moving so fast and often seems of out control, your seminar was able to slow it down and allow us to see the beautry of the land around us. A much needed respoite and rejunvination was needed and I definitely got it here at your seminar. Whales, seals, and lobsters all seen at Baa Haa Ba!

    Grand Teton / Yellowstone 2004

Nancy. Just wanted to take a minute and say what a good job that you did with the Teton symposium. The speakers were excellent and of course the Teton were magnificent. Spring Creek Ranch was the best lodging that I have had for ANY seminar/symposium. The program was well organized and flowed flawlessly. In fact Encore was so well done that I will probably not be attending any other major continuing ed. except future Encore symposiums. THANK YOU.

New England Spring in Newport 2004

New England 2004 Spring in Newport was my second Encore Symposium. Unique locations, comfortable facilities, excellent faculty, and program schedules affording the opportunity to learn and sightsee before calling it a day. Encore has provided me enjoyable education in some great locations. I look forward to my next Encore Symposium.
    Peter Maher, CRNA

I attended my first Encore Anesthesia Symposium in Newport, RI... I was very impressed with the entire symposium. The tours of the grand historic mansions, built by such famous families as the Vanderbilt’s, were a delight to see... The Lobster Boil with fellow CRNA’s and staff was a delicious treat. The Viking Hotel was a first class experience, including a comfortable conference room, deluxe continental breakfast, warm pool, and friendly staff. Above all, the speakers were extremely excellent, easy to listen to, and provided a complete syllabus for each presentation, reinforcing PowerPoint presentations kept my attention throughout. Presentations by medical malpractice attorney, James Martemucci, were especially enlightening and thought provoking, including a live mock deposition between attorney and CRNA. In summary, the Encore Symposium was one of the best I have attended in 17 years, and exceeded my expectations in every way,
    Mark DiRienzo, CRNA

Encore Symposiums puts on a top-notch conference. The Hotel Viking is well situated in Newport. The accommodations were quite satisfactory and service very good. I would visit again. Your presenters were all good; however, Mr. Martemucci was stellar, captivatingly good, I might say. See you in the near future.

Newport is a terrific meeting location destination with much to do and see – shopping, fine dining, mansion tours, etc. The symposium itself was educational, interesting and informative. The next symposium here- -you will definitely see me in attendance.
    Peter Mortensen, CRNA
    Bolton, CT

The most unique experience for me was having an attorney talk to our group… and I found myself agreeing with his thoughts!... I really appreciate you defending medical professionals Jim. Keep up the good work!

After attending the Spring Symposium in Newport, RI. I highly recommend Encore to all CRNA’s. Not only was the area beautiful and historic, but there was also adequate time to enjoy it as well. The meeting was well presented by educators, practitioners, and an attorney who enjoys teaching. They are extremely knowledgeable in their fields of expertise. I learned and enjoyed Newport at the same time. Thanks Encore

A wonderful time! Haas, Howie, and Martemucci were not only good speakers but approachable. Each covered a variety of current issues and trends in anesthesia. My personal favorites included those on malpractice and herbal medicine. Whether one chose the planned activities offered by Encore, or selected one of your own leisure activities, there was something of interest for everyone in the beautiful and historic Newport, RI. The Hotel Viking also offered elegant accommodations within short distances to the wharf district, cliff walk, the mansions on Bellevue, and the many fine restaurants and shops available. Overall, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this New England experience. Thank you Encore Symposiums.

This week at Autumn in Québec was wonderful. Both the Richelieu and Frontenac were top notch hotels. My favorite excursion was the whale watch on the Zodiac (a little wet though!). Joyce Houvener, CRNA, MS

The Encore Symposium meeting at Lake Powell was the most amazing location of any meeting I have ever attended. Not only was the lodging beautiful, every angle of view was breathtaking. All of the staff and speakers of Encore were very knowledgeable as well as friendly. There were plenty of activities offered for all ages and types of interest. Lake Powell is central and allows an easy day trip to many other exciting locations, such as Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sedona or Phoenix. I cannot say enough great things about the Lake Powell 2003 Encore Symposium, other than... You have to see it, to believe its beauty!
