Vancouver Arrival and transfer to the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

The Encore Symposiums attendees will be arriving independently
at the Vancouver International Airport. After clearing customs and
picking up your luggage, a 'Meet & Greet' representative will
assist you to the Airporter Shuttle, leaving every 15 minutes to
the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, a hotel rich in history, resplendent
in natural beauty, vibrant and cosmopolitan. There you will be met
by a Rocky Mountaineer representative to welcome you to Canada and
assist with your check-in. Within the walls of this renowned Fairmont
hotel, you will find a luxurious spa, a state-of-the-art health
club, restaurants and designer shops to wind down your day.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. Vancouver is
a magnificent city, offering variety of culture to explore and stunning
outdoors. Stroll through the shops and boutiques on Robson Street,
visit the Vancouver Art Gallery or Aquarium, explore Granville Island
and the Public Market, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge or take
a relaxing walk along English Bay.

Today you will board your motorcoach and transfer to Victoria,
the capital city of British Columbia. The day begins with a 90-minute
cruise on B.C. Ferries across the Strait of Georgia and through
the picturesque Gulf Islands. Upon arrival in Swartz Bay on Vancouver
Island, you will travel into Victoria to your downtown hotel.
Check-in at the elegant Fairmont Empress Hotel, rising regally
on the banks of Victoria's Inner Harbor and representing the center
of British Columbia's Capital City. The Fairmont Empress has been
completely restored to her turn-of-the-century beauty, displaying
the grandeur of a bygone era, her facilities and services meet the

Today you will board your chartered motorcoach and transfer to Vancouver.
En route enjoy a stop at the world-renowned Butchart
Gardens where you will have free time to explore the 50-acre
display of magnificent colour and floral arrangements. Continuing
onto the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, board your B.C. Ferry for a
90-minute cruise through the Gulf Islands and across the Strait
of Georgia Gulf Islands to the mainland. Arriving at the Tsawwassen
Ferry Terminal you will be transferred to your Vancouver hotel for
check-in.

Today's journey to Banff will take you over numerous rivers, awe
inspiring and high trestle bridges and through spectacular mountain
ranges, the famous Spiral Tunnels and Glacier, Yoho and Banff National
Parks.
Highlights this morning include the Shuswap region, known for its
sparkling lakes and rivers. The sagebrush covered and sparsely treed
South Thompson River valley narrows into the densely forested Columbia
Mountain region.
In the afternoon, the sightseeing highlights include Craigellachie,
Lake Louise and the Spiral Tunnels. Described as 'a perfect maze',
the railway through the Upper and Lower Spiral Tunnels was doubled
back upon itself twice, tunnelled under mountains and crossed over
a river twice, in order to lessen the grade.
