John Aker, MS, RN, CRNA, ARNP

John Aker, CRNA, MS, is currently a staff nurse anesthetist for Anesthesia Associates of Kansas City, Inc. His anesthesia practice is limited to the care of children at Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri. John is a graduate of the Southwest Missouri School of Anesthesia in Springfield, Mo, and received his Masters degree in nurse anesthesia from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Aker has been involved in nurse anesthesia education for more than 20 years, and held the position of Assistant Professor and Vice Chair of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Mr. Aker has published extensively in the AANA Journal, Anesthesiology, and Anesthesia Analgesia. He is the co-editor of a Pediatric text (Clinical Guide to Pediatric Anesthesia).
