CDR John Maye, CRNA, PhD

Director of Research, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences

CDR Maye is currently serving in the United States Navy as the Director of Research for the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Kansas Nurse Anesthesia Program at Kansas City, Kansas. In 2000, CDR Maye earned his PhD in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, Tennessee. In his 15 year career, CDR Maye has served as Clinical Instructor at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia, Clinical Research Coordinator at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California, and Director of Research for the Orofacial Pain Center, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland

CDR Maye has published more than 20 peer reviewed articles in various medical journals. He has lectured on numerous topics both nationally and internationally. He has served as a voting member of the Institutional Review Boards at both the Naval Medical Center, San Diego and Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C. CDR Maye is also currently serving as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. CDR Maye remains on active duty in the United States Navy and is fully committed to training and educating nurse anesthesia students within the military.
