Autumn in the Adirondack Mountains Encore Symposium
Co-sponsored by the NYSANA

Lake George, located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, is approximately 32 miles long and is nearly 3 miles wide. Lake George takes on a German flavor in the fall, with Oktoberfest held at the Great Escape Fun Park, and Lake George Village. the village of Lake George offers the largest mix of attractions, restaurants, shops and nightlife. You can walk within a two-block radius and rent a boat, watch a war reenactment, relax on the beach, take a cruise, play miniature golf, hit the arcades, ride in a horse drawn carriage, have a cocktail overlooking the lake, or just relax on a bench and watch the world go by. The variety of sounds, images, and tastes are as varied as the people who flock to Lake George each year to enjoy a relaxed and fun-filled vacation.

The town of Bolton Landing, the hamlet of Diamond Point, and other communities surrounding Lake George are both interesting and unique and have plenty of activities to enjoy. Quaint little shops and restaurants line the streets and a more relaxed atmosphere prevails. If photography is your interest, there are plenty of beautiful scenic shots in the area, as well as a number of good live action possibilities.

Travel:

The Sagamore can easily be accessed by air from the Albany Airport; by Amtrak to the Albany Station, or via Boston and Buffalo. This is a glorious time for hiking, for taking a boat cruise on the lake, or just car touring to take in the spectacular foliage. Sportsmen love the fall too.
