The grand finale for 2006 license renewal… even the fireworks! A perfect way to celebrate the 4th of July!

Telluride Rocky Mountains 4th of July Symposium
July 5-8, 2006

"Telluride is a cosmopolitan and confident alpine escape unlike any other in one of the most pristine, primoridial and spectacular settings in North America." (Denver Post, June 6, 2004)

"Telluride is undeniably charming." (Tampa Bay Tribune, October 3, 2004)

"Telluride is an eclectic, down-to-earth treasure nestled in a stunning box canyon rimmed by the 13,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains." (Ski Magazine, October 2003)

"Telluride has more good restaurants per person than any resort in the Rockies." With a wide variety of cuisine and styles, there's a restaurant for every taste and budget.” (The Chicago Tribune)

The Town of Telluride: Colorful, Historic, Unique

Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by the 13,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains the Town of Telluride is just six blocks wide and twelve blocks long. Due to its significant role in the history of the American West, the core area of Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964. This listing is the highest level of historic status available to sites designated by the United States Secretary of the Interior. Telluride is one of only four other Colorado communities with this honor. These sites are so special that, in theory, they are eligible for consideration as National Parks.

With its colorful Victorian-era homes, clapboard storefronts, boutiques, art galleries, gourmet restaurants, historic buildings and much more, Telluride is a delight to explore.

Mountain Village: Contemporary Elegance

Perched at 9,500 feet, the distinct beauty of Mountain Village entices discriminating guests with its luxury hotels and condos, stylish boutiques, innovative dining, world-class Golden Door Spa at The Peaks Resort, championship golf course, and the state of the art Telluride Conference Center. Mountain Village complements the rustic charm of Telluride.

Linked by a Scenic Gondola

The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular 13-minute ride on the free gondola. This popular scenic attraction serves as public transportation while providing free access to hiking and biking trails. Both towns sit at the edge of the slopes and lifts of the ski mountain.

Some things you'll find only in Telluride...
