Reed Halterman, DNP, CRNA, FAANA

Reed Halterman, DNP, CRNA, FAANA, is an Associate Professor, Assistant Program Director, and Clinical Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia. Prior to joining academia, he served as Assistant Chief CRNA at Augusta University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Dr. Halterman earned his Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nurse Anesthesia from Georgia Regents University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) Education Committee and will assume the role of Chair in 2026. He previously served on the Georgia Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Board of Directors for seven years, including service as President.

Dr. Halterman is a frequent speaker at state and national meetings and has presented on a variety of topics, including regional anesthesia, airway management, patient safety, quality improvement, chronic pain, and anesthesia education.

Jon Lowrance, MSN, CRNA

Jon Lowrance, MSN, CRNA, is the Director supporting the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Maine Medical Center, Maine’s only level one trauma center. He also produces the podcast Anesthesia Guidebook… the go-to guide for anesthesia providers who want to master their craft.

Jon’s professional background has roots in experiential education and wilderness medicine, having served as faculty with Landmark Learning and NOLS Wilderness Medicine. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Adventure Leadership at Southeast Missouri State University prior to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Louis University and a Master of Science in anesthesiology at Western Carolina University.

He has served as clinical & simulation faculty with the University of New England’s nurse anesthesia program, as SRNA Clinical Coordinator at Maine Medical Center (MMC), on MMC’s Medical Executive Committee and as a board member with the Maine Association of Nurse Anesthesiology. Jon is currently completing a PhD in Leadership with a focus on organizational development. His research is focused on how leadership, human factors and systems engineering can improve outcomes in emergencies. His passion is helping healthcare providers thrive on the path towards mastering their craft.

Ionela Morosanu, DNP, MS, CRNA

Dr. Ionela Morosanu is a Staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center***. In this capacity, she administers anesthesia for human clinical trials and complex medical procedures that contribute to the advancement of patient care. Her work ensures the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services that support the Center's research mission. Before joining NIH, Morosanu practiced at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she focused on high-acuity cases including complex vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, and transplant surgeries. There, as a committee member of the Morbidity, Mortality, and Process Improvement Committee, she played an active role in analyzing clinical outcomes and implementing quality improvement initiatives.

She contributes to the education of future CRNAs through guest lectures at Georgetown University's DNAP Program.

Ionela earned her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Georgetown University and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Maryland.

Mark Talon, DNP, MSN, CRNA

Dr. Mark Talon is a graduate of the University of Texas Nurse Anesthetist program and an alumnus of the inaugural class for Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Texas Christian University in 2009. He is a clinical coordinator for Shriners Hospital, Texas Christian University Nurse Anesthetist program. Past, Director of the Texas Board of Nurse Anesthetist. Nominated to the AANA Resolutions Committee 08/2016 to 08/2017 and currently serving on the AANA Bylaws Committee.

As the Chief Nurse Anesthetist for Shriners Burn Hospital for Children in Galveston, he is actively involved in the peri-anesthetic and ICU care of critically ill pediatric patients resulting from burns, trauma and other related disorders. Mark is also actively involved in critical care research involving the resuscitation, monitoring, and ventilation of critical and unstable patients. He has the privilege of being published in journals such as Anesthesia and Analgesia, Journal of Burns, and as a coauthor in the textbook of Total Burn Care.
